    About

    Perched at the top of Munjoy Hill in Portland’s East end, we are a chef-owned restaurant built on fresh market ingredients, friends, and family. Chef/owner David Iovino grew up in a family that valued coming together over food, and that tradition has carried forward as the foundation of Blue Spoon.

    We have fun in the kitchen, but we also couldn’t be more serious about what we do. That’s why we get our goods from the very best: Black Kettle Farm, Laughingstock Farm, Stone Cipher Farm, Fishbowl Farm, Freedom Farm, Valley View Farm eggs and meats, Wee Bit Farm beef and pork, Lankin’s Gorges Cheeses, Woolever Farm lamb, and Rick Tibbet’s mushrooms.

    Saturday brunch includes some of our lunch favorites as well as classic and seasonal morning items. Brunch includes house made biscuits, a classic breakfast plate, blood orange mimosas and spicy bloody marys.

    Our Dinner menu changes weekly, using what we get from farmers and what moves us during the season. From small tapas plates to half and full entrees, there are options to go with a glass of wine and for special occasions.

    The wine list at Blue Spoon is always evolving as we discover new favorites. We personally pick each wine on our list, and we love to share them with customers. We also have a full bar and expert bartender who will shake up your favorite cocktail, or help you find a new standby.

    Events & Provisions

    We love parties, in our home or yours. While we don’t really do catering, we can always make you a meze plate or coconut flan. These are two of our customers’ favorites, and they make a great beginning or end to a meal at home. Just let us know what you’re thinking and we can help. We also host Sunday Suppers throughout the year—family-style dinners celebrating the peak flavors of each season.

    Wine Time

    It’s our favorite time at Blue Spoon. Served Monday through Saturday from 4:30–6 p.m., daily wine specials and our small bites menu start the night off right. Come hang out for a bit after work, or swing by on a late Saturday afternoon.

    Bistro Burger

    A menu mainstay, our burger was named one of the top 10 burgers in New England by The Boston Globe. We use Wee Bit Farm beef from Scottish Highland Cattle mixed with caramelized onions, red wine, and herbs. We’ll make it however you like, with your choice of toppings, and a homemade bun. It’s really good, we promise.
